The Church of Classic Rock August 4th - Farmworker Appreciation Day Join the Reverend Jeff Smith for a different, but important, way of looking at the last months of summer! August 6th is Farmworker Appreciation Day, created to raise awareness of the people who harvest the food we buy, without whom we would go hungry! The Reverend will investigate the day, briefly dig into the history of migrant farm workers, let you know how one state is taking strides to ensure the working conditions and wages of farm workers, how Florida tomato growers changed the way fast food and supermarkets do business, and end the program talking about his mother's family, who were farmers in southern Michigan.
